Silverlight 2 brings the power of .NET to the browser by combining a powerful UI rendering engine with a programming model that Microsoft developers are already familiar with. In this presentation, we will explore the capabilities of Silverlight along with an overview of how Silverlight applications are developed. It provides features that can benefit both system administrators and developers. We'll introduce PowerShell and go over why developers should be interested in the command line and we'll also cover the benefits that scripting can provide, whether that be through efficiency or automating repetitive tasks.

2008-06: Discovering C# 3.0 and LINQ - John Kellar

John's Blog: http://www.anvilsystems.com

2008-02: Implementing Scrum and Team Foundation Server - Tommy Norman

Both Scrum and Team Foundation Server have received a large amount of attention the last few years and it is hard to separate the theoretical rhetoric from practical guidance. This presentation demonstrates the practical lessons learned from implementing both for a new .NET software development department. The focus will be on working with TFS and Scrum on a daily basis with real world examples of both successes and failures. Specific topics to be covered include:

    * Overview of Scrum
    * Overview of TFS
    * Walk through of implementing Scrum and other agile concepts using TFS and VSTS.
    * Demos of the Conchango Scrum plug-in for TFS, extending TFS with new templates, taking advantage of the TFS/Excel integration, and more.

2007-12: Generics, the Great Enabler - James Hanauer

Generics provides strongly-typed reusability, making it a core enabler of the technologies and methodologies provided in the .Net 2.0 framework and beyond. Generics can be leveraged by your existing system to help provide reusability, increase performance, and facilitate maintainability. In this session we will review the fundamentals of Generics, see how you can leverage it, and investigate its role in .Net 3.5.
