This enables them to make better decisions, share insights with others, collaborate throughout the organization, and, ultimately, improve its bottom line.

Come hear how Business Intelligence (BI) is becoming the number one IT initiative and how Microsoft is responding to this need. The session will highlight the Microsoft BI 'stack' and related components, with an emphasis on the new features in SQL 2008 that support this approach. Leave with a better understanding on what BI is, how it will impact your future projects, and what you can do to prepare.

This presentation demonstrates the practical lessons learned from implementing both for a new .NET software development department. The focus will be on working with TFS and Scrum on a daily basis with real world examples of both successes and failures. Specific topics to be covered include:

Overview of Scrum

Overview of TFS

Walk through of implementing Scrum and other agile concepts using TFS and VSTS.

Demos of the Conchango Scrum plug-in for TFS, extending TFS with new templates, taking advantage of the TFS/Excel integration, and more.

This session presents a tour of IIS7 and demonstrates the many benefits it offers developers. Learn about the end-to-end extensibility model in IIS7, which was used by the IIS product team to build all of the features in IIS7. In addition we will look at how we can performance tune slow JavaScript code.

Ron loves challenges, tight deadlines and boosting productivity, but dislikes status meetings, slow drivers and waiting for downloads. Could there be a pattern here? Ron began his programming career at the tender age of 10, when he decided his Commodore 64 games weren't quite cutting it. He then downloaded technical info from BBS and wrote his own games using sprite graphics. Before joining Microsoft in 2002, Ron designed and implemented a global online commodities exchange system for an ISV. He has also held management and technical leadership positions with a Microsoft partner. His certifications include MCSD, MCSE, MCDBA, MCP+I+SB - and he's working on extending the list. Ron has led 56 MSDN events to date and participated in over 20 user group meetings throughout Kansas, Missouri and Tennessee. Ron lives in Memphis with his wife, Lisa, and his children, Kayla and Ryan. No word if their Dad has passed on his passion for the Kansas City Chiefs. http://blogs.msdn.com/ron_cundiff

Looking for a .Net project that will differentiate you from the rest?

• Get published

• Demonstrate your .Net expertise to a national audience

• Be recognized for your achievements

• Add a conversation starter to your resume

• Enhance your marketability

• Designed to fit into your schedule

ReviewNet Corporation is looking for a few authors to write on-line testing questions for a series of new .Net skills tests we are developing.

ReviewNet authors are selected for their expertise. Authors gain publicity on our website and get their names and bios in front of leading companies hiring .Net professionals and in need of expert consultants. The author biography section is viewable by anyone and a good way to point out your work with us to others. You can view our author gallery at http://www.reviewnet.net/smelist.cfm. In addition to getting published, authors also earn a per question development rate and royalties on question usage.

The authoring project involves writing a set of online multiple choice questions to evaluate a candidate's experience. The project is designed to fit into the schedule of working professionals. Authoring can be spread out over a few weeks.

If interested, please contact me at mbartie@reviewnet.net. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

But what’s actually happening when you publish an application via the web? And what happens when the user installs and runs the application? This session quickly reviews the process of deploying an application with ClickOnce, focusing on what is placed where and what security mechanisms and configuration is involved, then will look beyond the demos at the files generated via the "Publish" wizards. We'll cover how to move ClickOnce applications from development machines onto production servers including the server configuration required and the modifications needed to your manifest files, and discuss versioning your ClickOnce applications to control who gets what version when. Come learn how to conquer the challenges of employing ClickOnce in real world enterprise environments.
Speaker: Michael Wiley

Michael Wiley works as a Software Engineer for Arkansas BlueCross BlueShield.
